Hendry Family
The Hendry's came from East Lothian and were centred on the parish of Gladsmuir. For the latter part of the 19th century they kept the joiners shop there, making farm carts. By 1910 most had left Glasmuir, many moving to nearby Edinburgh
My great grandfather William Hendry did not go into the family joinery business but spent some time in the English Lake District where he married Mary Dobson Duncan. I have included a page about her as her parentage is interesting and Dobsons were still visiting my grandmother in the 1930s, and she also stayed with them.
